Carm in the Press
Letter to the editor submitted by Jeremy Kaye
I am writing to express my support for Carmella Budkins for Town Clerk.
Carmie has been Town Clerk for the past 28 years. That does not happen by accident. It happens because she is hard working and understands the obligations and needs of the office and how to best serve the people of the Town. Isn’t that what we would hope all of our elected officials would do?
Carmie and those who work in the Town Clerk’s office exemplify the public service spirit, the one that we, as members of the Greenwich community greatly appreciate.
As a real estate attorney in Town, I have almost daily interaction with the Town Clerk’s office and that is a pleasure for me. They are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and look to solve, not create problems.
It is my opinion that this ‘can do’ approach starts from the top. It starts with Carmie.
While I am a life long Democrat, I have recognized throughout my voting years that I have a responsibility, not to my party, but to my Town, State and Federal government to assess the qualities and capabilities of those that I vote for and to do my best to choose the best candidates to vote for.
It is for that reason that I will be voting for Carmella Budkins for Town Clerk on November 5.

Letter to the editor from Margaret E. Conboy
Dear Editor,
It is my pleasure to support and endorse Carmella Budkins for Greenwich Town Clerk. I have known Carm since I began practicing real estate twenty-five years ago and I was learning to search titles.
Carm was first elected to the Town Clerk position about three years before then and she has been re-elected ever since.
Carm is dedicated to the citizens of the Town of Greenwich. She knows the Town, its needs; she is smart, savvy and loyal.
As Town Clerk, she has preserved the historical maps and records and has made the land records accessible and easy to research both on-line and in person. Above all the office is friendly, efficient and more than helpful.
Carm has an open-door policy and she is always available to listen. Carm is the most qualified person for the position of Town Clerk. I hope that you will join me on November 5, 2019 and vote for Carmella Budkins.
Sincerely,
Margaret E. Conboy

Letter to the editor from Nicole Pate
My first trip to the Town Hall was in 1986 to get a copy of my marriage license. It was a frustrating experience. There was one person working in the office, and for 45 minutes she complained to me about how busy she was. She had been sitting at her desk having coffee and danish. I interrupted her. I was the only person that walked in, and the phone never rang, but yet I had to listen to this woman complain about how overworked she was.
I never wanted to go to the Town Hall again, but then in the mid 1990’s my company needed to file a form with the SEC and we needed a notary public. I passed the test, and then had to go to the Town Hall to have this recorded. I walked in and Carmella Budkins came right up to the counter with a friendly smile and said, “Good Morning”. I didn’t know anything about notary procedure, and she took the time to not only sign my paperwork and swear me in, but she also explained my responsibilities to me. She was so cheerful and helpful that I no longer dreaded going to the Town Hall.
She has the experience and demeanor that we need at the Town Hall.
